Payment Plan Terms and Conditions
Last updated: December 21, 2025
These Payment Plan Terms apply when you purchase a domain name through Dotto Pty Ltd using a payment plan. These terms are in addition to, and do not limit, any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
1. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantees, rights, or remedies available to you under the Australian Consumer Law.
Where the ACL applies, Dotto Pty Ltd will comply with its obligations in respect of refunds, cancellations, and remedies as required by law.
2. Payment Plan Structure
By selecting a payment plan, you agree to pay the total purchase price of the domain name in instalments according to the payment schedule displayed and accepted at the time of checkout.
The payment plan allows you to secure and use the domain name while payments are being made, however ownership does not transfer until all payments have been completed in full.
3. Automatic Instalment Payments
All payment plan instalments are charged automatically using the payment method provided at checkout.
You are responsible for ensuring that:
- your payment details remain valid and up to date; and
- sufficient funds are available at the time each instalment is due.
Failure to maintain valid payment details may result in delayed payments, suspension of access, or cancellation of the payment plan.
4. Initial Access and Domain Configuration
Upon successful processing of the initial payment, Dotto Pty Ltd will grant you immediate access to use the domain name.
Following the initial payment, we will contact you to arrange configuration of the domain, including:
- DNS records
- domain forwarding
- name server updates
This access is provided on a conditional basis and does not constitute transfer of legal ownership.
5. Ownership and Transfer of the Domain
Legal ownership of the domain name remains with Dotto Pty Ltd until all instalments under the payment plan have been paid in full.
Once the final payment has been successfully processed, Dotto Pty Ltd will initiate the transfer of the domain registration to your nominated registrar account, subject to any applicable registry or registrar requirements.
Full ownership of the domain name is granted only after the transfer has been completed.
6. Missed or Failed Payments
If a scheduled payment fails, Dotto Pty Ltd will attempt to reprocess the payment over the following five (5) business days.
If the payment is not successfully completed within this period, you must either:
- make the outstanding payment; or
- contact Dotto Pty Ltd to discuss available options.
If the missed payment is not resolved, Dotto Pty Ltd may, subject to the Australian Consumer Law:
- suspend access to the domain name;
- pause domain configuration or services; and/or
- cancel the payment plan.
7. Cancellation and Reversion
If a payment plan is cancelled due to non-payment, breach of these terms, or at your request (where permitted), access to and control of the domain name will revert to Dotto Pty Ltd.
Any payments already made may be forfeited, except where a refund is required under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Refunds and Cooling-Off Period
A seven (7) day money-back guarantee applies to the initial payment only.
If you request a refund within this seven (7) day period:
- the payment plan will be cancelled; and
- control of the domain name will revert to Dotto Pty Ltd.
After the seven (7) day period has expired, payments made under the payment plan are non-refundable, except where a refund is required under the Australian Consumer Law.
9. Risk and Responsibility During the Payment Plan
While access to the domain is provided during the payment plan, you are responsible for ensuring that:
- the domain is used lawfully; and
- its use does not infringe third-party rights.
Dotto Pty Ltd may take reasonable steps to protect the domain if misuse or non-payment occurs.
10. Completion of the Payment Plan
Upon successful completion of all scheduled payments:
- the payment plan will be deemed complete;
- the domain transfer process will commence; and
- full ownership of the domain name will pass to you once the transfer is finalised.
